We no longer have just a “classroom,” we have something much more like a real studio thanks to the Lawton Public Schools Foundation grant! Following the infusion of dollars to MHS Media Production, our students’ quality of work improved; The freedom to live stream and record segments on campus simultaneously allowed us to generate more content for our stakeholders, and we even had our very first remote stream of a Unified Softball game with an all-student team (Can be viewed on YouTube at MHS Highlander Media). Over a dozen Highlanders (and Scots) were recognized at the statewide student media contest in the spring, including two top finishes in team live broadcast and news commentary. We saw a big increase in subscribers and followers as well.
